Unfaltering Veneer

All of my surroundingsShine like paint upon my skinConcealing all the secrecyThat slumbers deep within

All the world ever seesIs my unfaltering veneerYet beneath the dry exteriorQuite distant shores appear

Whether sunlight falls or starI cannot seem to showThe truth that I concealThe subtleties that flow

Underneath the dour shadowThat is blanketing the skyIs the purest form of sunlightThat has breached the arrant high
